The 2025 World Bank Spring Meetings

NexoAfrica participated in the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank and IMF in Washington, D.C., where we engaged with policymakers, development experts, and fellow changemakers on issues impacting African youth and the diaspora.

 

As a newly recognized Civil Society Organization (CSO), NexoAfrica now has ongoing access to future World Bank and IMF meetings—strengthening our ability to advocate for inclusive economic policies and global development solutions.

United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 

In April 2025 NexoAfrica attended the 2025 ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York City, where our team engaged with global leaders, presented our mission to empower young African professionals, and contributed to policy discussions on youth inclusion, innovation, and economic development across the diaspora.

Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (2025)

In April 2025, NexoAfrica attended the "Faces of Africa" event hosted by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where it showcased its mission to empower African youth through cross-industry collaboration.

 

The event provided a powerful platform to connect with global health leaders, share insights on Africa’s development trajectory, and highlight the voices and visions of the next generation of African changemakers.

NexoAfrica Engages at the Afreximbank National Conference (2024)

In September 2024, NexoAfrica participated in the Afreximbank National Conference, joining leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss Africa’s economic future.

 

Key topics included innovation, trade, and empowering the diaspora to drive sustainable growth.

 

This engagement reflects NexoAfrica’s mission to connect young African professionals with global opportunities for impact.

Words from A Global Leader
(2024)

At the Afreximbank National Conference in September 2024, NexoAfrica joined leaders in a powerful dialogue on Africa’s future.

 

UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed delivered inspiring remarks on the need for inclusive development and the critical role of Africa’s youth and diaspora in driving change.

 

This aligns with NexoAfrica’s mission to empower the next generation of African leaders.

African Diaspora Day on Capital Hill (2024)

NexoAfrica proudly joined the 2024 African Diaspora Day on Capitol Hill, celebrating the contributions of the diaspora and fostering dialogue with policymakers.

 

The event highlighted key issues, promoted collaboration, and aligned with NexoAfrica's mission to empower young African professionals and drive global impact.

United Nations Visit (2024)

In December 2024, NexoAfrica made a powerful mark at the United Nations, solidifying its role as a driving force for African professionals and leaders on the global stage.

 

This milestone visit was more than symbolic-it was a statement of intent. We engaged with key international stakeholders, amplifying African voices in policy, business, and innovation while forging partnerships that will propel NexoAfrica's mission forward.

National African Student Association (2024 - present)

We are proud to announce our collaboration with the National African Student Association (NAfSA) to strengthen the voice of young African professionals and students across the diaspora.

Mary Abodo (President) & Sewa Gunn (Vice President) were selected for the inaugural African Diaspora Policy Advocate program, an opportunity to influence key policy discussions that affect African communities globally.
